ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 revisits a 2006 running design with updated tooling. The low-top silhouette pairs open mesh underlays with synthetic textile and synthetic leather overlays for a structured, breathable upper. The White/Graphite Grey colorway features metallic silver panels, graphite accents and bronze ASICS stripes that reference early-2000s tech runners and the model’s gothic armor inspiration. The shoe is set on GEL-NIMBUS 17 tooling with a foam midsole that incorporates dual GEL inserts in the rearfoot and forefoot, FLUIDRIDE cushioning and GUIDANCE LINE for a guided stride. A TRUSSTIC SYSTEM support piece and external heel counter add torsional rigidity and heel support, while the rubber outsole delivers traction. The design is finished with a recycled mesh sockliner, padded tongue and collar, and a segmented outsole.
