A milestone in the history of Rezet

The Men's department of Rezet Store, in Jorcks Passage is located downtown Copenhagen in the recently renovated passage. The store concept is a dynamic retail-universe, aiming to raise the bar for what consumers can expect from their local sneaker provider. The retail-space has been designed by Rezet Sneaker Store co-founder and former Creative Director, Mathias Bruun Christensen, in close collaboration with the upcoming industrial design duo Borg Brückner. Their objective has been to position Rezet Sneaker Store as an international brand, without losing its Nordic heritage.

Thoughts behind the design

The entire team behind Rezet Sneaker Store each have a special affinity for sneakers in their own way, and it has been part of the mission from the start to make this shine through in the store concept. In addition, Rezet Sneaker Store's regional affiliation has been an important pillar in the design.

"The Nordic style is pervasive, deliberately subtle and simple, to let the products speak for themselves. The color scheme and the choice of materials are toned down to make room for the enormous explosion of colors and the many variations of materials that the product range consists of. In addition, there is room for contemplation with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With the simple design, we ensure a delicate execution with a sense of the aesthetic. That is why sensuous and natural materials such as oak, plywood, linoleum, concrete and steel are included," Mathias Bruun Christensen, who is one of the founders of Rezet Sneaker Store, elaborates.

Local design

All the fixtures are either specially suited for the store itself, or made from standard and ready-made solutions from local manufacturers. For example, we've handpicked a perforated metal plate from LOCCO, who usually make tooling fixtures, to highlight a curated selection of our accessories products. Another example of this is the choice of lighting, which Lysarmaturlageret from the inner city of Copenhagen has assisted with. In particular, their otherwise anonymous fluorescent tubes have been given a significant and dedicated role above all our "sneaker walls".In addition, a small team of local design talents have each given their own unique character to the store. Graphic designer Thomas Blankschön has teamed up with the Danish design studio WAAITT to provide all the sneaker-inspired illustrations that hang around the store.

In addition, the Danish industrial designer Emil Hjorth-Rohde has been responsible for the characteristic ufo-like pendant lamp "Balance Light". Finally, the duo Borg Brückner is behind the refined and free-standing clothes rack "T1", which is located around the entire store.
