HOKA Mafate Speed 2 is a trail running shoe developed for technical terrain. The low-cut silhouette features a lightweight SpeedFrame upper with an external monomesh debris screen that helps keep out particles while allowing airflow. Synthetic overlays and a TPU heel counter add structure around the midfoot and rearfoot for a stable hold on uneven ground. Underfoot, a cushioned CMEVA top midsole works with an early-stage MetaRocker geometry to support a continuous transition through the stride. The Active Foot Frame construction and J-Frame support cradle the foot deeper in the midsole for inherent stability. A Vibram Megagrip outsole with 5 mm lugs and targeted high-abrasion rubber zones provides traction and durability on wet and dry surfaces. The Varsity Navy / Silver colorway is finished with clear HOKA branding.
