HOKA Mafate Speed 2 is a trail running model developed for technical terrain. This Asphalt Grey / Walnut version uses a breathable mesh upper with no-sew SpeedFrame overlays and a reinforced toe bumper to create a lightweight, supportive shell with added abrasion resistance. An external monomesh debris screen helps limit grit entering the shoe, while the padded tongue and collar contribute to a secure feel over uneven ground. Underfoot, a dual-density CMEVA midsole works with R-Mat inserts to combine cushioning, rebound and durability, supported by an Active Foot Frame and early stage MetaRocker geometry for consistent transitions. A TPU heel counter and broad base platform add further structure on off-camber surfaces. The Vibram Megagrip outsole with 5mm multi-directional lugs and deep flex grooves is configured for traction and adaptability on both wet and dry trails.
