Diving into the future of circular design, ASICS partners with one of the world’s leading experimental footwear design studios, Amsterdam-based Studio Hagel, led by designer Mathieu Hage.
Together with footwear recycling company FastFeetGrinded, they’ve created the ASICS SportStyle NEOTIDE™ sneaker from components that would otherwise be thrown away.
Using ground-up deadstock and old, defective shoes, a strong sense of character has been an essential element in the design process. Referencing the recognizable ‘00s-inspired heritage runner GEL-NYC, the ASICS SportStyle NEOTIDE™ features a curvy, landscape-like form, a layered multi-texture construction, and a soft, sculptural EVA midsole that enhances both comfort and visual depth.
The refined, recycled materials make up 100% of the knit upper and 39.4% of the entire NEOTIDE™ silhouette by total weight, while 100% of the innovative GEL™ technology is made using GEL™ technology processing waste.
