ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 reworks a 2006 performance runner into a low-top lifestyle silhouette. The upper combines open honeycomb mesh with metallic synthetic overlays for a structured, breathable shell with a technical expression. In the Cream/Pure Silver colorway, a white and silver base is set against burgundy ASICS stripes, lining and cushioning details for a clear, retro-tech contrast. Underfoot, a composite FLUIDRIDE midsole with dual GEL inserts in the forefoot and heel delivers layered cushioning, while the visible pods along the side highlight the segmented construction. A TRUSSTIC TPU plate supports the midfoot, and the rubber outsole is divided into zones for traction and flexibility. Inside, mesh lining, rope laces and a removable synthetic resin insole with recycled sockliner mesh complete the build.
