New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro is a trail running model built for off-road use. This version features a breathable engineered mesh upper in the Castlerock colorway, reinforced with hairy suede overlays at the toe and heel. A gusseted, perforated tongue helps limit debris entry, while a padded collar and heel pull tab marked HIERRO support straightforward on-off. Underfoot, a dual-density Fresh Foam X midsole pairs a softer top layer with a firmer base for cushioning and stability on uneven ground, with subtle sculpted pod textures along the sidewall. The Vibram Megagrip outsole uses Traction Lug technology with 6 mm lugs and a speckled finish for grip on wet and dry surfaces. Toe Protect technology extends rubber coverage at the front, and a rigid platform with a 4 mm drop supports a steady stride.
