Joshua is a 22-year-old pop and R&B artist who began his musical journey in the UK before moving to Denmark at the age of 10. Can you tell us about your journey into music?
My journey into music began in the church when I was about 8 or 9 years old. One of the pastor’s sons lived above the church and had set up a small studio there. After the sermons, we would head upstairs to record songs. That’s where it all started for me.
Growing up in the church, how has that influenced your music?
Growing up in the church gave me a strong sense of faith. That belief in something bigger than yourself, even if you can’t see it, really shapes the way I approach my music. It’s about believing in something greater, something better, and that translates into the stories I tell in my songs.

How does being both a singer and producer give you control over your work?
Being both a singer and a producer gives me complete creative freedom, which is amazing. I don’t have to rely on anyone else to create. But too much control can also be overwhelming - it’s a balance. Independence is powerful, but collaboration can also bring new energy and ideas.
Congratulations on your Danish Music Awards nomination - huge accomplishment! What’s the next big goal on your list?
Thank you! Right now, my main focus is on myself. For a long time, my attention was divided, but now I’m prioritizing my growth and performing as much as possible. I love being on stage - it’s where I feel most connected to my art.
Do you have anything exciting in the pipeline?
I do, but I don’t want to jinx it, so I’ll keep it under wraps for now. Guess you guys will have to wait and keep an eye on my instagram for updates @minorgoldsmithrose
What advice would you give to someone trying to connect with their emotions through music?
I’d say, give yourself grace. Be kind to yourself, the way you’d be kind to a friend. Music is deeply personal, and connecting with your emotions takes time and patience.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
That’s tough! But right now, I’d say Tendai. He’s an emerging artist from the UK, and his vocals remind me of a modern Michael Jackson. The way he uses his voice is incredible, and I’d love to create something with him.
Sneakers and style are big in the music world. How does fashion play a role in your identity as an artist?
I’ve never been one of those “fashion kids” like my brother, but for me, fashion is about functionality and comfort. When I’m in the studio, I want to feel free to move, sing, and create. My style reflects that balance of comfort and expression.

What’s your guilty pleasure song or artist?
Hmm, probably something like Charli XCX or even Taylor Swift. I’m really into super simple pop songs lately—they just have this universal appeal.
Adidas is such an iconic brand in both sports and fashion. How does their style align with your personality?
Adidas has always been about bold expressions, with their colors and designs standing out. That resonates with my music—it’s about being unapologetically expressive, no matter how unconventional.

Super comfortable! They’re chill, easy to put on, and perfect for getting out the door quickly.
You’ve got a great sense of style - can you tell us about what you’re wearing today and why you chose this look?
I’m wearing Noon Goons today. I love their laid-back, street vibe - it’s comfortable but still has a cool edge, which fits perfectly with my style. For me it’s all about feeling relaxed and comfortable.
Lastly, can we expect any new releases soon?
Yes, absolutely. If not by the end of this year, then definitely at the start of next year.
