New Balance 990BK6 continues the 990 series with updated cushioning and a streamlined upper. The construction combines a breathable black mesh base with pigskin suede and synthetic overlays that run from heel to toe, forming a continuous mudguard and eyestay for structure. Reflective silver N logos and additional reflective details at the collar and tongue support visibility, while the padded tongue and collar add everyday comfort. Underfoot, a sculpted FuelCell midsole works with the ENCAP system’s polyurethane rim to balance cushioning and stability. A TPU heel tab and black rubber outsole with flex grooves provide rearfoot support and traction. The black upper is set on a midsole with grey and white contrasts, finished with matching laces.
