New Balance 1000EGY revisits a late-90s performance runner through a contemporary lens. The low-top silhouette is built on a breathable black mesh upper with layered synthetic leather and suede overlays in a Dark Ice Wine colorway, combining metallic silver, deep wine tones and charcoal accents. An inverted mesh-and-suede layout lets mesh underlays appear between sculpted overlay panels for a technical, Y2K-inspired expression. A raised N logo sits on the quarter, while 1000 embroidery near the lateral toe references the model’s heritage. Underfoot, a segmented polyurethane midsole integrates ABZORB cushioning in the heel and forefoot, supported by a Stability Web shank through the midfoot and a black rubber outsole. A padded mesh tongue and collar with textile lining secure the fit. Subtle neon eyelets and molded swirl detailing at the toe and heel underline the retro runner character.
